Mathematics 1, better known as Math 1, is a 9th grade course here in Georgia that caught many students and teachers by surprise. Here in Georgia, there needed to be a change in curriculum and the rigor of that curriculum - hence Math 1 was born.
Instead of taking Algebra 1, students in Georgia as freshmen in high school are enrolled in Math 1 or Accelerated Math 1. Both courses are a blend of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Statistics. Students that are in Math 1 or Accelerated Math 1 should have successfully completed their 8th grade math course. If your child has not, this site and many other like it should be your child's best friend (bookmark the homepage).
There are a few things that students can do to ensure their success in Math 1 through Math 4. Casio has some really advanced calculators that can aid students in the sometimes tedious work of simplifying math problems or multi-step operations.
Math 1 topics, as shown below, will be created and uploaded in due time. Please continue to check back as I hope to have all topics covered by the end of the school.
